The CFD currently operates five engine companies, one squad (rescue-pumper), three ladder companies, and one rescue company, as well as several other special, support, and reserve units. Steve was born on Aug. 31, 1953 in Burlington, VT, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Stephen C. Cochones. Steve attended Burlington High School, where he ran track and played football, graduating in 1973. Steve served in the US Navy working as a Seabee and diesel mechanic and was honorably discharged. He would often revel his brothers with stories of time spent in Sicily and the colorful characters that he encountered.

While on hiatus from teaching, Fran earned her real estate license and served on the Colchester School Board during the time when the concept of a local high school was under discussion and subsequently constructed. It opened in 1975 and Fran returned to teaching at Colchester High School in 1976 and retired in 1997. Fran was a lifelong learner, earning two master’s degrees from Saint Michael’s College . She was particularly proud of her work with the young English language learners from the Sabo School in Japan and has many friends around the world who attended SMC with her in the Teaching English as a Second Language Master’s program. She was born on Oct. 12, 1951, the daughter of Walter J., Sr. and Helen M. Burbo. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1971.

Because of that diagnosis she had to transfer to an assisted living facility in Essex, the original facility that she had looked at. Frances Louise Lampman94, passed away peacefully at the University of Vermont Medical Center after complications from Parkinson’s Disease on January 28th, 2022. Frances was born on June 14th, 1927 in Bennington Vt to Roy and Alice Lampman. She attended school at a one room schoolhouse in her hometown of Pownal followed by attending Bennington High School, where she excelled at her studies and sports, playing basketball, field hockey and softball. Left behind to cherish Lee’s memory and young life are his mother Laura Davis of Winooski, his 4 older brother’s Jerry Davis of Fairfax, Ryan Benoit of South Carolina., Keith Benoit Jr. of Colchester and Tyler Benoit of St.Albans. Lee was also a beloved uncle to Hunter Benoit, Adalynn Benoit, Charles Davis, Nova Davis, Myla Benoit and Ryden Benoit.

Mom passed away peacefully on July 20, 2022 to be with her husband, Arthur, her daughter, Lynn, her mom and dad, Sam and Emily and a son-in-law, Donald Miner. After attending Brattleboro High School, she attended Champlain College in Burlington where she met the love of her life, her husband and caretaker, Craig.
